These and other questions will be answered later

"A price on carbon you say? Across Middle Earth? Shit, yeah!!

Learn how Lizzie met an Aussie
Told her girlfriend Mary-Anne
"Mary-Anne I've met a man who says he's an Austray-lee-an"
"Fallen for him have your Lizzie?"
Lizzie blushing shook her head
Said Mary-Anne "don't think you can fool me" and then she said:

Is he an Aussie, Lizzie, is he?
Is he an Aussie, Lizzie, eh?
Is it because he is an Aussie that he keeps you busy Lizzie?
Has he jazzy ways and does he make you go all fuzzy wuzzy?
Got you dizzy, has he Lizzie?
Is he an Aussie, Lizzie, eh?"

"Seems this digger likes my figure"
Lizzie then told Mary-Anne
"Likes my ways and claims to think I'm
what these Aussies call fair-dinkum"
"Throws a fond eye, talks of Bondi
And he's tried to kiss me twice
When I said 'No' he said 'Good-oh'"
Said Mary-Anne "How nice"

Is he an Aussie, Lizzie, is he?
Is he an Aussie, Lizzie, eh?
Is it because he is an Aussie that he keeps you busy Lizzie?
Has he jazzy ways and does he make you go all fuzzy wuzzy?
Got you dizzy, has he Lizzie?
Is he an Aussie, Lizzie, eh?"

Soon this wonder from Down Under
Got himself right down to biz
Lost no time in coaxing Liz
To promise that she would be his
He being well-born, lived in Melbourne
So they sailed at once for there
Poor Mary-Anne without a man
Repeats this maiden's prayer:

"Is he an Aussie, Lizzie, is he?
Is he an Aussie, Lizzie, eh?
Is it because he is an Aussie that he keeps you busy Lizzie?
Has he jazzy ways and does he make you go all fuzzy wuzzy?
Got you dizzy, has he Lizzie?
Is he an Aussie, Lizzie, eh?"
(he's a bonza bloke)

Pfft, EMS.

Intellectual consistency is the hallmark of petty minds.

I try not to post off topic where I can, but given that I can't see what the current actually is, here goes.

Does anyone know of a method of ridding oneself of "Brain Worms"?

I've had this one tune going round and round in my head for days now.

Help!

Have you tried saturation, Mr E? Find a copy of the offending tune and play it on constant repeat for a few hours. Usually works for me.

Mr E, I have researched this for you. It says sufferers are likely to be neurotic, tired, stressed, female musicians and it suggests that you "Picture the earworm as a real creature crawling out of your head, and imagine stomping on it."

You're welcome

Alex,
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a try, although listening to the same tune over and over again to rid yourself of a tune playing over and over in your mind seems a little counter-intuitive, but hey, what the hell. the weekend's fucked anyway.

Squib,
Thank you also.
(a)neurotic
Possibly.

(b)tired
Very.

(c)stressed
Absolutely.

(d)female.
A cursory trouser inspection suggests otherwise, but then I thought Alex was male for quite a while, so maybe I'm not the best person to make a judgement either way.

(e)musicians
If I could just work out what time signature it was in, I think that would end this nightmare.

Maybe you should've been more consistent with the trouser inspections, Mr E.

How did that remedy work out for you, by the way? And what was the song? It wasn't the one at the top, was it? That would've been awful.

I do my best, but you how know it is, so many trousers, so little time.....

As for the tune, I think I'm over it.

My problem is that I get intrigued by stuff.

I stumbled upon a live performance by Laurie Anderson of a song called "Gravities Angel"which at first seems like a straight foward 4/4 rock groove but when you try to tap your foot to it, it ain't. Not remotely. Intriguing.

So, after listening to it over and over today I finally worked out the timing. My work is done. Thanks for the suggestion.
